ORGANISE A CONGRESS?

Because regularly being involved in organising congresses during the past 20 years, we recently compiled a document known as Congress Organizer's Guide (COG). This document has been modified repeatedly to cope with the rapid development of information- and audiovisual technology, and the currently available version is 1.18 (last updated in 2013). We and our partners have found this document indispensable, while helping the organisers to memorize all the innumerable small details that are so important in making the congress a great success.

Congress Organizer's Guide is available exclusively from SMW Consultants. This 27-page document contains every single detail necessary to arrange a successful Congress. No matter whatever size; all items are to be found in COG. There are several hundred of them, organised under separate headings arranged in an easy-to-follow sequence. You might ask, whether SMW Consultants can organise a Congress for us? Unfortunately, we cannot organise a whole Congress for you, because our company is not a Congress Bureau. As our name implies, we are a consulting company, with completely different profile from that of a congress bureau.

In other words, we do all the rest that a regular congress bureau cannot do. SMW Consultants has the full range of expertise that is necessary while organising even a major international congress. Having been involved in organising over 20 such events, we are ready to share this experience with you. While organising your event, SMW Consultants is ready to discuss with you about any of the topics listed in our Congress Organiser's Guide. Many of those items are, however, best taken care by a regular congress bureau.

There are, however, several major topics that cannot be allocated to a congress bureau, but need to be taken care by the organisers themselves. Those are the items, where our company can give its most valuable contribution to your congress organisation. Draft Programme Outline: When the dates of the event have been agreed, one of the first things is to start thinking how to fill these days to achieve the maximum use of the limited time available. This is the stage, where novel innovations are extremely helpful, and we are ready to offer these ideas to you.

Draft Scientific Programme: This is the main contents of the congress, and also the main determinant of the event's success. To build up of a well balanced, high-impact scientific programme is a demanding task. There are so many variables and too many uncertainties, and the end result can usually be determined only afterwards. You can do a lot, however, to avoid many of the caveats, and SMW Consultants is willing to offer its expertise to assist you in that.

Announcements: Announcing your event plays a crucial role to get the right people attended. Several issues needs consideration while planning your announcement policy. SMW Consultants can tell you more.

Identify Potential Sponsors: Due to several reasons, congress costs have increased tremendously, setting pressures for the organisers to find a balance between expenditures and income. Finding the right sponsors is mandatory.
